What AI sees
When you turn on AI Insights, Aura analyzes the conversations you choose to have analyzed. This means the messages you send and receive in a specific chat — but only after you explicitly opt in during onboarding.
The AI looks at simple things: how often you each reply, how quickly, whether you're asking each other questions, and whether you're building on topics or jumping around. It uses this to give you a conversation score, tips, and a sense of when you might be ready for a date.
What AI doesn't do
The mutual consent model
Aura shows AI activity openly. If you turn on AI Insights, everyone you chat with sees a small indicator that AI analysis is active for you. They can choose to turn on their own insights too — or not.
Some premium features — like detailed chemistry analysis — require both participants to have AI Insights enabled and to be on a Premium plan. This isn't a paywall trick. It's a consent requirement: analyzing both sides of a conversation should require both people to agree.
How to turn AI off
You can turn off AI Insights at any time from your Account settings. When you do:
Your data rights
You can export all your data at any time from Account settings. This includes your profile, conversations, AI-generated insights, and activity history. You can also delete your account entirely — this cascades to all data associated with your account.
